Persian Gulf University offers 12 Persian Gulf Scholarships to outstanding international applicants from all over the world to study in one of the following areas at the university: a) energy (petroleum, gas, petrochemistry and renewable energy); b) marine studies (environmental studies, marine technology and aquaculture); c) interdisciplinary research and new technologies; and d) Persian Gulf studies in the areas of language, culture, history, economics, and business.

Founded in 1991, Persian Gulf University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Bushehr (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Science Research and Technology, Iran, Persian Gulf University (PGU) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 7,000-7,999 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Islamic religion. Persian Gulf University (PGU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 28 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this Iranian higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.
Eligibility Criteria
The following applicants will be given priority over others: · Graduates of international universities that have a Memorandum of Understanding with Persian Gulf University· Applicants from Persian-speaking countries· Applicants from Persian Gulf countries
· Iranian applicants residing in other countries, in particular Persian Gulf states, provided that they have lived in that country for at least ten years or have permanent residence, and they have acquired their previous college degree from abroad

A. Fr master degree scholarship, you can apply if you are, or will be, at most 28 years old by September 23 of the year in which you apply AND you hold a minimum GPA of 16 out of 20 or its equivalent.
B. For PhD degree scholarship, you can apply if you are, or will be, at most 33 years old by September 23 of the year in which you apply, you hold a minimum GPA of 16 out of 20 or its equivalent, AND you have published at least one research paper in ISI-indexed or Q1/Q2 SCOPUS-listed journals.
