Applications are now open for the Paulette Isabel Jones Career Award. This $8,000 scholarship supports domestic and international postgraduate research students who are nearing the completion of their thesis.

To be eligible for the award, applicants must be currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program. You must be a domestic or international student currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program. You need to have completed at least 4 research periods if you are in a master’s program or 12 research periods if you are in a doctoral program.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities (Domestic and International)

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by the university at the postgraduate research level.

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Be currently enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) degree at the time of thesis submission.
  • Have completed 4 research periods at the application closing date if enrolled in a research masters program.
  • Have completed 12 research periods at the application closing date if enrolled in a doctoral research degree.
  • Submit their thesis on or before 30 June 2025.
  • Not have submitted their thesis before the opening date of this application round (1 March 2025).
  • Not hold a similar award for the same purpose during the award period.

Offered Benefits

  • Full-time students will receive a one-off payment of $8,000.

  • Part-time students will receive two instalments of $4,000.
