The aim of the International Masters Program in Holocaust Studies at the University of Haifa is to cultivate future generations of Holocaust researchers and educators. The program focuses on Holocaust research and education with an exceptional, multi-disciplinary approach offering courses in history, psychology, anthropology, museum studies, education, international law, visual arts and literature; training in relevant European languages essential for the study of the Holocaust; excursions and visits to relevant sites, museums and institutions and internship opportunities in Israel, Europe and the U.S.

The program offers various scholarships based on academic merit and/or financial need that range from partial to full tuition scholarships as well as support for living expenses.

Partial to Full Master’s Scholarships for International MA Program in Holocaust Studies Founded in 1963, University of Haifa is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Haifa (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Education, Israel, University of Haifa (HU) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Haifa (HU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship.

  • Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in the humanities or social sciences from a recognised university in Israel or abroad with a final grade of 80 or more (Israeli system) or 3.0 GPA.
  • Candidates who have previously attended an institution of higher education with instruction in English are not required to take the TOEFL exam. All others must submit official TOEFL scores or their equivalent.

Offered Benefits

International students: $9,780 (Tuition $8,900 + Additional Fees: Security, Library Services, & Insurance $880).

Scholarship for Israeli students: 28,407 NIS (Tuition 27,562 NIS + Service & Security Fee).

Application Process

Applicants must apply to the International MA Program in Holocaust Studies at the University of Haifa prior to applying for the scholarship.

Upon acceptance to the program, the Academic Committee will review the student's request for scholarship and announce the recipients.
