The Oxford University Graduate Scholarships for Ukraine Program is open for the 2023-24 academic year, proudly supported by the XTX Markets Academic Sanctuaries Fund. This scholarship program will offer financial support to applicants who have been displaced by the war in Ukraine.

The funding is open to Ukrainian students who will provide support for 18 full-time taught master’s students beginning courses at Oxford. The program is designed to assist Ukraine in ‘building back better,’ the aim is that the scholars should be able to return and contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine with the knowledge and networks gained from their one-year course.

Oxford University Graduate Scholarships for Ukraine Students for Master Founded in 1096, University of Oxford is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Oxford (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Oxford is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Oxford offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees in several areas of study. This 923 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 20-30% making this UK higher education organization a very selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Ukraine
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for eligible taught master’s courses in the following Oxford’s Divisions:
  • Continuing Education: MSc in Translational Health Sciences
  • Mathematical Physical and Life Sciences: MSc in Energy Systems, MSc in Mathematical and Computational Finance, MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics, MSc in Mathematical Sciences, MSc in Mathematical Modelling and Scientific Computing, MSc in Mathematics and Foundations of Computer Science, MSc in Statistical Science, MSc in Statistical Science
  • Medical Sciences: MSc in Clinical Embryology, MSc in Genomic Medicine
  • Eligible courses are available in a broad range of academic subjects.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants are eligible for full-time taught master’s courses, who are:
  • 1) Nationals of Ukraine and;
  • 2) Who have been displaced by the war in Ukraine
  • Others from neighboring countries who can meet the evidence requirements for having been displaced by the war in Ukraine may also be considered for the scholarships.
  • Students currently at Oxford are not eligible to apply.
  • This scholarship is not open to applications from candidates who hold  deferred offers to start in 2023-24.

Offered Benefits

The scholarships will help up to 18 Ukraine graduate students by providing them full course fees and a £10,000 grant towards living expenses/costs. Students will also receive free accommodation and meals, when the college kitchens are open.

Starting an Application

  • How to Apply: Before applying for funding, applicants are required to apply for a master’s course at Oxford University.
  • To start an application, applicants must visit the  course page of their chosen course and click ‘Apply’ in the ‘How To Apply’ section.
  • Applicants are required to complete a separate scholarship form if they have:
  • Applied for an eligible course by the relevant November, December, or January application deadline for their course and received an offer;
  • Their graduate application indicates that they meet the nationality criterion; and
  • Applicants have ticked the ‘refugee status’ box on the graduate application form.
