National University of Ireland (NUI Galway) in collaboration with CARE-PEAT is offering grant applications for the Peatland Conservation and Restoration Research Project funded by INTERREG NWE.
The program is open for all international students to help in their study and shape their future, who want to pursue a PhD study in Ireland.
This PhD award is available for three years in Peatland Conservation and Restoration within the discipline of Geography at NUI Galway and a one-year stay at University College Dublin.

Offered Benefits
The program will provide benefits as the following:
- During Year 1 of the program, the candidate will be required to attend specific training at University College Dublin under the supervision of Dr. Florence Renou-Wilson to study state of the art peatland greenhouse gas monitoring techniques.
- The remainder of the award time will be spent based at NUI Galway with travel to local and interregional field sites.
- The project ends 10-June 2022, with possibilities of further funding.
- The successful candidate will be expected to apply for additional external funding opportunities.
