The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is offering a PhD Position in Electromembrane Processes at the Faculty of Science and Technology. The position focuses on developing innovative membrane technologies for selective ion separation and water purification as part of the TIES project.

To be eligible for the PhD position at NMBU, applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Material Engineering, or Physical Chemistry, with a grade average of B or better. Candidates should have relevant laboratory experience and proficiency in written and spoken English. Additional experience in electrochemical processes, membrane technology, polymer chemistry, data analysis, or programming will be considered an advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The PhD position will be awarded in the field of Electromembrane Processes within the PhD Programme for Science and Technology at NMBU.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Material Engineering, or Physical Chemistry.

  • Have relevant laboratory experience.

  • Demonstrate fluency in written and spoken English in line with NMBU’s PhD admission criteria.

  • Have a grade average of B or better for both coursework and Master’s thesis (Norwegian grading system or equivalent).

  • Desirable qualifications include specialization in electrochemical processes, membrane technology, polymer chemistry, or data analysis.

  • Experience with academic writing, programming, and numerical simulations is advantageous.
