The NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Oil & Gas Essay Competition sponsored by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is designed to promote the Nigerian Content (NC) initiative and create the awareness for Nigerians to build local capacity to participate effectively in Nigerian’s Oil and Gas industry.

Prizes for the NCDMB Undergraduate Essay Competition include:
- 1st Place: N1,000,000.
- 2nd Place: N700,000.
- 3rd Place: N500,000.
The top 10 National Finalists will each receive a laptop.
The winning essay will be featured in the NCDMB’s in-house magazine, Local Content Digest.
The award ceremony will take place on 14th November 2024.
Requirements for NCDMB Annual National Undergraduate Oil & Gas Essay Competition
- This contest is open only to 100-200 level students in public and private Tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
- Entrants must submit a letter of admission
- All essays must be original works specifically written for the competition.
Selection Process
Essays will be assessed based on:
- Clarity of Expression.
- Spelling and Grammar.
- Originality of Thought.
- Depth of Analysis.
- Relevance to the Industry.
- Conformity to Contest Rules.
All essays will go through a plagiarism check to ensure originality.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for a final round interactive assessment on or before 28th October 2024.
