Participants will undergo a week-long orientation program, career development training, and an internship placement lasting 6-8 weeks with one of the NHEF Partner Firms. Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF) 2023 Scholars Program for Bachelor Established in 1975, University of Port Harcourt is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large city of Port Harcourt (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Rivers. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the National Universities Commission, Nigeria, University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 35,000-39,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Port Harcourt (Uniport) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 44 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 0-10% making this Nigerian higher education organization a most selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify as an NHEF Scholar, applicants must be penultimate students at one of the NHEF Partner Universities, i.e., 300 Level students studying a 4-year course or 400-level students studying a 5-year course. The partner universities include:

  4. University of Ibadan
  5. University of Lagos
  6. University of Nigeria, Nsukka
  7. University of Port Harcourt
