The Niger State Government through the Niger State Scholarship Board (NSSB) has announced the call for applications for the 2024/25 scholarship and bursary programs.
The Niger State Scholarship is an initiative of the Government of Niger State to provide welfare for tertiary education students at undergraduate and graduate levels who are indigenes of the state.
The board offers scholarships to indigenes of Niger State who are enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria and abroad. They are in charge of announcing the call for applications, reviewing the applications, selecting the best candidates, and disbursing the funds.
Eligibility Criteria
The Niger State Scholarship Board offers the following types of scholarships to its indigenes who are studying in Nigeria or abroad;
- Be a citizen of Niger State Nigeria
- Be enrolled in a tertiary institution located in Nigeria or abroad.
- Possess a full-time admission as a student of the said institution.
- Admission letters in languages other than English must be accompanied by certified true and accurate translations.
- Niger State Scholarship Bursary: This scholarship is offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students in Nigerian and overseas tertiary institutions.
- Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship: The BEA Scholarship is a special type of award between the Federal Government of Nigeria and other foreign countries in Europe, Carribean, and Asia.
- Special Scholarship Award: The Niger State Special Scholarship Award is automatically offered to secondary school students who make a remarkable seven (7) distinctions in the WASSCE or NECO exams. The scholarship will cover 100% of the students’ bills to study in Nigeria and 50% if they wish to study abroad.
