NHH PhD research scholarships are fully funded for four years on very competitive terms. PhD research scholarships include a commitment to work 25% as a teaching and/or research assistant for the school while enrolled on the PhD programme.

Founded in 1936, NHH is the preeminent business school in Norway, the first choice for Norwegian students and the business community. NHH has close to 3,500 full-time students.

Most of our students start at the Bachelor level and go on to one of the specialised Master of Science (MSC) options at NHH. NHH Norwegian school of economics PhD research scholarships Founded in 1936, Norges Handelshøyskole (Norwegian School of Economics) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the small city of Bergen (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants), Hordaland. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Kunnskapsdepartementet, Norge (Ministry of Education, Norway), Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH) is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 2,000-2,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 83 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 0-10% making this Norwegian higher education organization a most selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible you need to fulfill the following requirements:

Master of Science (MSc) or comparable degree relevant for your specialisation 
e.g. MSc in Economics and Business Administration, MSc in Social Sciences, MSc in Psychology, MSc in Philosophy, MSc in Mathematics, MSc in Engineering, MSc in Industry, MSc Management, MSc in Law. Minimum four (B) in Grade Point Average (GPA), five-point scale (A=five, B=four, C=three, D=two, E=one). Minimum four (B) on the master thesis. TOEFL or IELTS test scores are normally required, unless you are waived. GMATor GRE test scores are normally required, unless you are waived.

Offered Benefits

The annual salary for the PhD Research Scholarships is currently 430 200 NOK gross (which is equivalent to about € 46 400 or US dollar 52 500).

The scholarships are subject to Norwegian taxes and benefits, including health care provision and membership of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
