The Solar Physics Division American Astronomical Society offers fellowships for postdoctoral studies in solar physics. The fellowship program is open to international and domestic scientists, focusing on Earth science, planetary science, heliophysics, astrophysics, biological and physical science, aeronautics and engineering, human exploration systems, space operations, space technology, and astrobiology. Fellowships are awarded for up to three years and include a stipend of $70,000 per year.

The Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Nonproliferation and International Security (NA-24) administers the Predoctoral Fellowships for Minority Students program.
