The Nagao Scholarships Program in Vietnam for the 2025–2026 academic year is offered by the Nagao Environment Foundation (NEF), a Japanese NGO dedicated to promoting nature conservation in developing countries. The program aims to empower future researchers by funding scientific projects and thesis work that contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development.
The scholarship program is open to Vietnamese citizens who are enrolled in or newly admitted to a master’s program in fields related to nature conservation, biodiversity, biology, ecology, forestry, agriculture, Earth and environmental sciences, or other disciplines supporting conservation and sustainable development. Applicants must have a research topic relevant to these areas, and priority is given to candidates from ethnic minorities or disadvantaged backgrounds.The Nagao Environment Foundation (NEF) is a Japanese non-governmental organization established in 1989 with the mission of promoting nature conservation in developing countries. It supports research, capacity building, and educational activities aimed at preserving biodiversity and fostering sustainable development. Since 1995, NEF has partnered with the Central Institute of Natural Resources and Environment Studies (CRES) at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, which serves as its sole representative in Vietnam.
