The NAEd/Spencer Dissertation Fellowship is designed to encourage a new generation of scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields to conduct research relevant to improving education. This prestigious fellowship supports candidates whose dissertation projects bring innovative and insightful approaches to the history, theory, analysis, or application of formal and informal education.
Applicants must be doctoral candidates at a U.S. graduate school, regardless of citizenship. They should have completed all pre-dissertation requirements by June 1 of the award year and must propose a research project focused on education. The fellowship is open to students from any discipline, with a demonstrated commitment to conducting educational research post-graduation. Only individual applications are accepted.
