The M.S. Merian – R. Tagore International Centre of Advanced Studies “Metamorphoses of the Political” (ICAS), under the Max Weber Stiftung India Branch Office, is offering multiple fellowships for Postdoctoral and Senior Researchers for the academic year July 2025 – June 2026.

The scholarship is open to all nationalities. Applicants must hold a PhD degree, have at least 3 years of research or teaching experience post-PhD, and align with ICAS
research themes.The Max Weber Stiftung India Branch Office is officially known as the Max Weber Forum for South Asian Studies, was established in 2021, building on earlier initiatives dating back to 2014. Located in New Delhi, it serves as a hub for fostering research and dialogue between German and South Asian scholars in the humanities and social sciences. The office promotes interdisciplinary studies, particularly in historical and contemporary South Asian contexts, focusing on educational research and the dynamics of knowledge production.

Multiple Short-Term Fellowships at ICAS, 2025 Founded in 1994, Universität Erfurt (University of Erfurt) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Erfurt (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Thuringia. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Thüringer Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur (Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture), Universität Erfurt is a small (uniRank enrollment range: 5,000-5,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Universität Erfurt offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study.   • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by ICAS
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Hold a PhD degree
  • Have at least 3 years of research or teaching experience after PhD
  • Work on a topic aligned with ICAS research themes
  • Fluency in English and relevant languages for research proposal
