QUT is offering an MPhil Scholarships in Generative AI and Academic Research. The scholarship program provides a stipend, tuition fee support, and the chance to work with leading researchers.

To be eligible for the Scholarship at QUT, applicants must meet the entry requirements for the Master of Philosophy, including English language criteria, and enrol as full-time, internal students commencing in February 2026. They should hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 5 (on a 7-point scale), have a strong interest in generative AI and academic research, and submit a research proposal aligned with the scholarship topic.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in Communication / Digital Media Research (MPhil program at QUT)

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Meet QUT’s Master of Philosophy entry requirements, including English language criteria

    • Enrol as a full-time, internal student and commence in February 2026

    • Hold a bachelor’s degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent) in a relevant field, with a GPA of at least 5 on a 7-point scale

    • Demonstrate strong interest in a 2-year research project on generative AI and academic research

    • Submit a research proposal aligned with the scholarship topic, showing the contribution of the proposed research

    • Show excellent potential for research

    • (Advantageous) Experience with qualitative digital communication and media research methods (e.g., policy analysis, platform biography, app walkthrough, website analysis).
