The internship is an opportunity for emerging journalists to gain firsthand experience in reporting and contribute to impactful, evidence-based environmental journalism. The Mongabay Internship Program is a unique, hands-on program designed to mentor budding journalists and expand their skill set. This six-month journey allows interns to delve deep into critical conservation topics, engage with experienced journalists and see their work resonate with millions of readers worldwide.
The interns will be writing roughly six news stories on a variety of conservation and environment topics over a course of a six-month commitment. Topics will be assigned to the interns by one of Mongabay editors. The Mongabay interns will work closely with Mongabay journalists and receive writing guidelines and feedback on their news stories before publication, receive a deeper understanding of journalistic programs and processes at Mongabay and receive one-on-one training and mentorship from the editors who work with the fellow.
