The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to announce the MOFA Scholarship Program for outstanding Emirati students. This prestigious scholarship aims to prepare a new generation of diplomatic leaders equipped with world-class education and skills to serve in the UAE diplomatic corps.

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be UAE nationals aged between 17 and 22, with parental consent if under 22. They must hold a high school diploma with strong academic performance based on their curriculum, meet the English language proficiency requirement (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent), and have an unconditional acceptance from a MoFA-approved international university.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the United Arab Emirates is the government body responsible for managing the country’s international relations and diplomatic missions around the world. It plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing the UAE’s foreign policy, promoting international cooperation, and protecting the interests of Emirati citizens abroad.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: United Arab Emirates (UAE citizens only)
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is open to all academic disciplines that contribute to UAE diplomatic objectives, subject to MoFA’s approval.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Must be UAE nationals (holders of UAE passports and family book)

  • Aged between 17 to 22 years, with legal guardian’s approval

  • High school diploma with the following minimum requirements:

    • General/Technical/American/Other Systems: 90% and above

    • Advanced/SABIS Systems: 85% and above

    • Elite/Advanced Science Program: 80% and above

    • British System: 5 IGCSEs with B grade or higher and 2 A Levels with C grade or higher

    • IB Diploma: Minimum 30 points

  • IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or above (or equivalent)

  • Must provide:

    • Good Conduct Certificate

    • Academic transcripts (Grades 10–12)

    • Birth Certificate, Passport, Emirates ID, Family Book

    • University acceptance letter (from a MoFA-approved university)

    • Medical examination certificate

    • National service exemption/termination (for male applicants)

    • Parental consent (for applicants under 22)

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Agree to:

    • Study a third language if required

    • Join the UAE diplomatic corps for the duration equivalent to the academic program

    • Enroll in Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA) after graduation
