Imaging flow cytometry offers the opportunity to derive high volume data related to millions of cellular events in a short period of time. The technique combines both flow cytometry and fluorescent microscopy; the resulting multivariate data generated can then be used for a number of important applications.
Deepometry is an open-source workflow developed with the objective of applying deep learning algorithms to the analysis of cytometry data. At present the workflow has the capacity to use both supervised and weakly supervised techniques to characterise cells. Our new project, ‘Deepometry 2’ aims to develop our current software for use on both 2D and 3D images. This project will involve software development and the application of this deep learning tool to a number of exciting datasets.
The project will be in conjunction with researchers at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Boston and with GSK, Philadelphia.
Established in 1920, Swansea University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Swansea (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Wales.
