The GREAT Manchester India Scholarship programme is a joint programme part-funded through the GREAT campaign and The University of Manchester. GREAT is a part of the UK Government’s campaign to showcase the UK as a GREAT place to study and do business.

Master’s Scholarships for Indian Students at University of Manchester Founded in 1824, The University of Manchester is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Manchester (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), North West England. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, The University of Manchester is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 40,000-44,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Manchester offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 195 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must:

  • Be in receipt of an offer of admission for a full-time, one year master's degree in one of the programmes in the Faculty of Science and Engineering or the School of Social Sciences, including Law;
  • Be a citizen of India;
  • Meet the required English language requirement of the degree course.

Offered Benefits

The University of Manchester School of Social Sciences, including Law, will provide one successful offer-holder from India, a jointly funded scholarship of £9,625.

Application Process

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit, achievement and potential and will be awarded by recommendation of the relevant Department.

Application deadline:**
**The scholarship nominations will be based on the programme application. If you are shortlisted as a candidate, you will be required to submit a separate scholarship application to the Faculty of Science and Engineering. There is no requirement for a separate scholarship application for the School of Social Sciences, including Law. We can't guarantee consideration for any candidate not in receipt of an offer of admission by 31 March 2020.
