Massey University Doctoral funding for Domestic and International Students in New Zealand, 2020 for PhD


With the aim of encouraging and supporting students, the Massey University is offering the Doctoral funding for the high achieving candidates. The sponsorship will be awarded on the basis of academic excellence and strategic research priorities.

The purpose of the program is to attract full-time or part-time New Zealand and international students applying for doctoral research program for the session 2020/21.

Massey University Doctoral funding for Domestic and International Students in New Zealand, 2020 for PhD Established in 1963, Massey University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Palmerston North (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Manawatu-Wanganui. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Auckland, Wellington. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry for Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, New Zealand, Massey University is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 35,000-39,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Massey University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Offered Benefits

Massey University will provide the value of a doctoral support will be a stipend of $25,000 per annum and payment of tuition and non-tuition fees to a maximum of 36 months of full-time study.  Part-time study will include a stipend of $15,000 per annum and payment of tuition and non-tuition fees to a maximum of 60 months.

Application Deadline: Applications close on 1 October for the following year tenure and 1 April for the current year tenure.

  • Admission Requirements: Candidates are required to be enrolled in their approved course of research as a full-time or part-time candidate at Massey University.
  • Language Requirement: International applicants must meet the Massey University English language requirement for postgraduate studies.
