The Margarete von Wrangell-Habilitation Programme aims to encourage qualified women scientists to complete a postdoctoral Habilitation at a university in Baden-Württemberg. The funding gives them the opportunity to remain integrated in their teaching and profession, while nevertheless completing their research work. To qualify for participation, applicants must already hold a doctorate. Their work must be carried out at a university in the State of Baden-Württemberg. Since the funding consists of an employment contract, participants are covered by social security insurance for the whole 5-year funding term. The number of participants varies from year to year. This year saw eight women take part.
