Maitri Scholarships Program in Australia

Eligibility Criteria

• Eligible Countries: India
• Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in STEM-related disciplines such as advanced manufacturing, critical technology, life sciences, medical technology, critical minerals, and clean energy solutions.
• Admissible Criteria:
  • Applicants must be Indian citizens and not current citizens or permanent residents of Australia.
  • They must be new enrollees at an Australian university.
  • Applicants should have completed an eligible Higher Degree by Research (HDR) application through the nominating Australian university.
  • Scholars must propose to study in approved courses with qualified academic and industry panel oversight.
  • They must hold a valid Student (subclass 500) visa for the duration of the scholarship.
  • Scholars are required to participate in events organized by the Centre, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), or their university.
  • Compliance with the Maitri Scholarships Program Agreement and the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research is mandatory.

Application Process

• Applicants must create a profile on SmartyGrants, submit their application, and follow the steps provided by the deadline.
• Results will be announced in February 2025, and the program implementation begins in May 2025.
