The International Statistics and Epidemiology Partnership (ISEP) MSc in Medical Statistics Fellowship Scheme is for students from sub-Saharan Africa and comprises of one year of MSc study, followed by a year’s placement at one of ISEP’s partner research centres in Africa: MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit; Mwanza Intervention Trials Unit (MITU); ZAMBART; THRU-Zim Biomedical Research Training Institute; African Population and Health Research Center (APHRC); MRC Unit at The Gambia, LSHTM.

LSHTM/ISEP 2025 Masters in Medical Statistics Fellowship Scheme Founded in 1899, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of London (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London (LSHTM) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Be resident in and a national of a country in sub-Saharan Africa
  • Be in possession of an excellent degree with a background in mathematics, statistics, or a related subject
  • Have at least 1 year of work experience in medical statistics or epidemiology
  • Be able to meet the English language requirements as set out in the  English language requirements policy

Offered Benefits

Each fellowship will cover costs for MSc tuition fees, an annual stipend, and return air travel.

 Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed via Zoom and if successful, may be required to undertake an  English language assessment.
