London Metropolitan University Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships in UK Founded in 1848, London Metropolitan University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of London (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, London Metropolitan University (London Met) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. London Metropolitan University (London Met) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 171 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: UK national students and other international applicants can both apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Undergraduate or postgraduate programs taught at London Met are eligible to apply for.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The candidates should have an excellent degree in a subject relevant to the topic applied for.

Offered Benefits

Each scholarship will come with a fee waiver and a stipend of £23,000 per annum, a figure that is based on a London Living Wage rate of £11.95 per hour for 37 hours per week and 52 weeks per year net. This funding will be available for a maximum of four years.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Students need to submit their applications online by logging in to the  university portal. Scholarship applications are to be made separately at the bottom of  this.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • A short cover letter outlining the motivation for applying
  • A 300-500 word proposal that directly addresses the contribution they will make to the particular project. Candidates may only apply for one project.
  • A 200-word statement describing their values in relation to the race equity agenda and the University values
  • A PDF/scanned proof of their qualifications
  • Passport or other ID document scan
  • Admission Requirements: The students need to have a Grade Point Average of 2.7 or higher or a minimum C grade average or higher (for non-GPA grading systems).
  • Language Requirement: The students must have appeared for IELTS and must have attained a minimum of 6.5.
