Lois Hole Humanities and Social Science Scholarship at Concordia University of Edmonton 2025 for Bachelor Established in 1921, Concordia University of Edmonton is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized city of Edmonton (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Alberta. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education, Alberta, Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) is a very small (uniRank enrollment range: 1,000-1,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 98 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 50-60% making this Canadian higher education organization a averagely selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Person (visa students are not eligible),
  • Be an Alberta resident. To be considered an Alberta resident one of the following conditions must apply:
    1. one parent, or legal guardian has maintained permanent residence in Canada for at least 12 consecutive months immediately prior to commencing post-secondary studies and be residing in Alberta, or
    2. Alberta is the last place the student has lived for 12 consecutive months immediately prior to commencing post-secondary studies, or
    3. the student’s spouse/partner has maintained permanent residence in Alberta for 12 consecutive months prior to the person attending post-secondary.
  • Be enrolled full-time in the second or subsequent year of undergraduate post-secondary study in the Faculty of Arts at Concordia University of Edmonton
  • Demonstrate academic excellence
  • Demonstrate leadership and community service
  • Have completed a minimum of 30 credits at Concordia University of Edmonton

Application Process

  1. Complete and submit the  Lois Hole Humanities and Social Science Scholarship application form.  The application requires a personal statement about your leadership and community service activities.  You may wish to prepare this in advance – Using one or two real-life examples from your community service activities, describe how you made a difference as a leader.  Explain your role, what was accomplished, how the experience contributed to your development as a leader and how it benefited others (max 500 words).
  2. Submit one confidential letter of reference in support of your community service and leadership potential.  Give the  Lois Hole Humanities and Social Sciences Letter of Reference Guidelines to your referee for instructions on how to submit the letter of reference.  The Letter of Reference Guidelines describes how and where the letter can be sent in order for it to be considered ‘confidential’.
