To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must be international students on an F1 visa who have completed at least two semesters at the University of Utah’s Salt Lake City campus. They must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, be enrolled full-time during the award semester, and remain in good academic and disciplinary standing.

Lingutla Scholarship at University of Utah, USA for Bachelor Founded in 1850, The University of Utah is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Salt Lake City (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Utah. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, The University of Utah (The U) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 35,000-39,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Utah (The U) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 169 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 80-90% making this US higher education organization a least selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to all international students holding an F1 visa.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for any subject offered by the University of Utah.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Have completed at least two semesters at the University of Utah’s Salt Lake City main campus prior to the award semester.

  • Hold and maintain F1 visa status during the semester of the award.

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

  • Intend to enroll full-time (12 credits for undergraduates; 9 credits or 3 thesis credits for graduate students) during the semester of the award.

  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing with the university.

  • Demonstrate active engagement in campus and/or community activities (student clubs, service programs, events, etc.).

Not Eligible:

  • Sponsored students, student-athletes, departmental-funded students, those in reduced tuition programs, or past recipients of the ISSS or Nagoya Scholarship.

  • Students on visas other than F1 or non-degree-seeking (non-matriculated) students.

  • Complete the Lingutla Scholarship Application form, including:

    • Current cumulative GPA

    • Resume or CV

    • A 300–500-word essay highlighting accomplishments and community engagement.

  • Ensure successful submission by checking for a confirmation email in Academic Works messages.
