Liberty University is now accepting applications for the Missionary Kid (MK) Scholarship for Fall 2026. This highly competitive tuition-only award is designed for children of missionaries serving full-time outside the United States with Liberty-approved organizations.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens under 24 years old and enrolled as new, full-time, resident undergraduate students at Liberty University. Their parent or parents must be serving full-time on a foreign mission field outside the United States with a Liberty-approved organization.

Liberty University Missionary Kid Scholarship in USA for Bachelor Established in 1971, Liberty University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Lynchburg (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Virginia. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, Liberty University is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution formally affiliated with the Christian-Baptist religion. Liberty University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees in several areas of study. This 48 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 20-30% making this US higher education organization a very selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: United States (students must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens).

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship is awarded for any undergraduate degree program offered by Liberty University.

  • Admissible Criteria:

    • Be a new resident undergraduate, full-time consecutively enrolled degree-seeking student.

    • Be under 24 years old and a “dependent” student.

    • Parents must be serving full-time on a foreign mission field outside the U.S. (or on an approved furlough of 1 year or less) with a Liberty-approved organization.

    • Apply for standard aid through FAFSA and VTAG (as applicable).

    • Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).

    • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 each semester.

    • Commit to living on campus for all four years.

    • Participate actively in the MK Care and Leadership Development Program.

    • Submit an application authorizing Liberty to confirm missionary parent status annually.

Application Process

  1. Confirm your sending mission agency is Liberty-approved.

  2. Submit the MK Scholarship Application online.

  3. Provide the agency letter confirming your parents’ missionary status.

  4. Meet all application deadlines.

  • January 23, 2026: Application & Agency Letter deadline

  • January 26 – February 6, 2026: Application review

  • February 16 – February 27, 2026: Interviews

  • March 6, 2026: Award notifications

  • March 16, 2026: Contract signing
