Are you ready to pursue your dream PhD in Arts and Humanities? The LAHP Open Studentship Competition for 2025/2026 is now open!

The studentship is open to home and international students who meet the academic requirements for a doctoral program in Arts and Humanities. Applicants must apply for a PhD at a LAHP partner institution for the 2025/26 academic year or have at least 50% of their PhD remaining by October 2025 if already enrolled. Eligibility extends to full-time and part-time students, with special consideration for Black and Global Majority applicants to address structural inequalities.The London Arts & Humanities Partnership (LAHP) is a collaboration of leading universities in London that provides world-class funding and support for doctoral research in the Arts and Humanities. LAHP offers studentships for interdisciplinary, practice-based, and traditional research projects, fostering academic excellence and innovation. Through its extensive network of partner institutions, LAHP provides students with unique opportunities for training, development, and engagement with a diverse intellectual community.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Home (UK) and International (including EU) applicants.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship supports research in Arts and Humanities disciplines across LAHP’s partner institutions.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:
  • Apply to or be enrolled in a doctoral program at a LAHP partner institution for the 2025/26 academic year.
  • Have at least 50% of the program’s duration remaining if already enrolled.
  • Hold a relevant master’s degree or possess significant professional experience.
  • Commit to full-time or part-time study.
  • Be able to demonstrate the originality and significance of their research proposal.

Offered Benefits

Open awards are funded for up to three years full-time (or part-time equivalent), with the opportunity to apply for a funded extension based on research needs, after enrolment.

Application Process

Applicants must first apply for a doctoral program at a LAHP partner institution and secure a supervisor. Afterward, submit the LAHP Open Studentship application through FlexiGrant by 5 PM (GMT) on Friday, January 31, 2025.
