King`s Hardship Fund

KHF is a limited discretionary fund to assist students on low incomes who may need extra financial support for their course and to stay in higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

The fund is open to applications from home, full-time and part-time postgraduate students.

The fund is also open to home, full-time undergraduate students who are:

NHS-funded this year; orbegan their course in 2011 or earlier; orbegan their course in 2012 or later but have a household income above £42,620.

KHF is open from September each year, whilst funds permit and students must have taken their full student loan entitlement first (if not, see here).

Application Process

You can apply online through King's Student Records.

On the first page of the portal, find the ‘My Fund Application’ box and select 'click here to view your funding options'.

Please ensure that you read the guidance notes carefully before completing the application form and provide all the relevant supporting documentation as soon as possible.

** Please be advised that the Student Funding Office is no longer able to accept hard copies of supporting evidence, and can only proceed with an assessment once scanned or electronic documents have been submitted.

Facilities for scanning documents can be found on every campus, including in the basement level of the James Clerk Maxwell Building. Scanning apps can also be obtained for most smart phones.

Please ensure that all documents are clearly named to prevent delays to the processing of your application. **
