The main objective of this programme is to promote international mobility in research and teaching in fields related to Finno-Ugric linguistics, ethnology and folklore. At the same time it strengthens the cultural and linguistic ties between the Finno-Ugric regions of Russia and Finland.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarships for kindred peoples are intended for post-Master's level students and researchers who
-
carry out post-Master's level studies or research at universities in the Finno-Ugric regions of Russia,
-
who reside in Russia and know any of the Finno-Ugric languages spoken in Russia, and
-
study Finno-Ugric languages.
The pre-requisite for applying is that the visiting student or researcher must have established contact with the Finnish host university. The visiting student or researcher cannot independently apply for the grant from CIMO, instead the hosting Finnish university department should apply to CIMO for the grant on behalf of him/her
Offered Benefits
The monthly allowance (900 - 1200 euros) is intended to cover living expenses in Finland for a single person. No additional allowance for housing is paid. Expenses due to international travel to and from Finland are not covered by CIMO.
