Kent Business School Tiered Scholarship

The Kent Business School Tiered Scholarships Scheme was established to provide financial support to applicants of postgraduate taught Masters and Kent MBA programmes. We can award funding to exceptional students who are likely to consistently perform at the top of their class, make an outstanding contribution due to their work experience and/or diversity of background. Scholarships for 2015 are into three award tiers; Bronze, Silver and Gold. As a member of the International Scholars Group, you will be asked to contribute to the KBS community by undertaking a minimum of 3 activities from the activities noted below. Two must come from those listed in the first paragraph below and one from the activities listed in the second paragraph.

You will be asked to participate in both of the activities below:

•Student Representative – You will be asked to nominate yourself for election as a student representative for your programme or should no-one be elected, to volunteer to serve in this capacity.

•Alumni Ambassador – As a valued member of the Business School, you will be expected to become an Alumni Ambassador on leaving the School. This entails assisting with Alumni activities, networking and recruitment events and fairs in your home country. You are asked to be an active member of the Alumni Association in your home country, or to consider starting an Alumni Association if none exist.

In addition, you will be asked to participate in at least 1 of the items below:

•Social media and comms activities *

•We would like to encourage our students to help us with our social media engagement and activities. This will include:

•Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter monitoring/commenting

•Blogging

•Photo galleries

You will have the chance to use your talents to help the marketing team produce communications to students at Kent Business School and the University of Kent. This could involve writing articles for the website, taking photographs and/or video; help create attractive electronic newsletters and other digital media. Open Days – we have two postgraduate open days each year at the University. You will be expected to assist with 2 hours of your time at each open day event.

Following your Scholarship award, you will be asked to complete a report on your activities at the School, and what you felt you gained from your scholarship. This will need to be completed by May 2015.

On completion of the activities undertaken, you will be provided with a certificate of scholarship that will list the activities undertaken, which in turn can be used to support your CV for future employers and which may contribute to enhancing your employability.

KBS Tiered Scholarship for Master Founded in 1965, University of Kent is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Canterbury (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Medway, Paris, Brussels, Athens. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, University of Kent (KENT) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. University of Kent (KENT) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 54 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Offered Benefits

The scholarships are divided by tiers based on the award level, in 2015 these are:

  • Gold Award - £5,000
  • Silver Award - £2,500
  • Bronze Award - £1,000
