This Scholarship was established in 1998 by the trustees of the Reardon Memorial Music Trust in association with The University of Auckland using funds left to the Trust by the estate of Mrs Robina Annie Reardon, MBE.

Kathleen Mary Reardon Travelling Scholarship in Music for Master Founded in 1883, University of Auckland is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Auckland (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants). Eligibility Criteria

  • The Scholarship shall be open to students who are New Zealand citizens and have completed or will complete in the year of application any degree or diploma in performance (with or without Honours) or any postgraduate music degree at The University of Auckland. It will be awarded to a student intending to improve their instrumental or vocal skills overseas.
  • In making an award, the Council of The University of Auckland shall also have regard to the candidate's financial situation, proposed study plans and itinerary, outlines of which should be supplied to the Head of the School of Music or Deputy one week in advance of the examination.
  • The Scholarship shall be awarded on the basis of an examination in Performance. Time allowed for each examination will not normally exceed twenty minutes.
