Joint University of Surrey Theoretical Nuclear Physics STFC International Studentships in UK Founded in 1966, University of Surrey is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Guildford (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), South East England. Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in theoretical nuclear physics research.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the given criteria:
  • Must have qualifications or experience equal to an honors degree at a first or upper-second-class level, or a master’s from a UK academic research organization.
  • Degrees obtained outside the United Kingdom, or a combination of qualifications and experience equal to a comparable UK degree.

Offered Benefits

A minimum ‘stipend’ of £17,668 per year for your living costs, which will be paid to you in regular installments.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: Applications should be made through the Physics PhD programs. Instead of a research proposal, you should provide a document that includes the title of the project you want to apply for as well as the name of the relevant supervisor.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must provide the following supporting documents:
  • Scanned copies of signed/stamped credentials (certificates or transcripts) demonstrating how you fulfill, or intend to meet, the entry requirements.
  • Proof of English language proficiency (if English is not your first language).
  • A copy of your passport (if a visa is required to study here).
  • A personal declaration.
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Candidates must be able to work as part of a team that is pushing the boundaries of existing ideas in order to gain a better understanding of the natural world.
  • Must be capable to employ mathematical and computational approaches such as high-performance computing clusters and quantum computing algorithms.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants must provide the following language requirements:
  • IELTS – 6.5 to 7.0
  • Duo lingo English Test – 120 overall with 110 in each component.
  • TOEFL iBT – 95 overall with 23 in Reading, 23 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 26 in Writing.
