John J. Sweeney funding for US Students at Ulster University, UK for Master


The Ulster University is welcoming enthusiastic individuals to become a part of the John J. Sweeney program for the academic year 2020.

This scholarship is generously supported by funds raised by the AFL-CIO, the American Labor community, business and civic organizations, and individuals. The purpose of this program is to support US students undertaking a full-time MSc or MA at Ulster University.

Sweeney funding for US Students at Ulster University, UK for Master Established in 1968, Ulster University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized town of Coleraine (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Northern Ireland. This institution has also branch campuses in the following location(s): Belfast, Jordanstown, Derry. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Privy Council, Ulster University is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 25,000-29,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Ulster University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees in several areas of study. Offered Benefits

The John J Sweeney Scholarship has a value of $20,000 and that is used towards the Scholar’s tuition fees for an MA or MSc at Ulster University.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To participate, the applicants need to submit an online application form.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants must ensure that all sections of the application form are completed with all additional requirements attached to the application. Scanned copy of original degree certificate, where applicable, a reference letter from a Union sponsor, 500 – 750-word personal statement, two reference letters and a scanned copy of their US passport.
  • Admission Requirements: The minimum requirement for this program is an undergraduate degree.
  • Language Requirement: All participants are advised to demonstrate the English language ability and satisfy the requirements of the English language.
