The Joan Armatrading Scholarship is now open for high-level students at BIMM Music Institute Birmingham. This award is designed for the academic session 2024/2025.

The studentship will provide full three-year tuition fees for a candidate who is from a low household income and/or a group that is under-represented in higher education. The scholarship is designed to assist individuals who demonstrate talent in their chosen discipline, strong creative potential, and a desire to pursue a career in the creative industries.BIMM University is a leading institution for contemporary music education and boasts a network of colleges across the UK and Europe. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: United Kingdom
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded in any subject offered by BIMM Music Institute Birmingham.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
    • Applying for an undergraduate degree at BIMM Music Institute Birmingham starting in September 2024.
    • UK national with a home fee status.
    • From a low household income* and/or an under-represented group in higher education, including:
      • Students from a global majority background.
      • Students who have experience in care or are estranged.
      • Mature students.
      • Students who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community or are from a gender-diverse background.
      • Disabled students.
    • *Student Finance England (SFE) offers a full maintenance grant to students with a household income of £25,000 or less.

Offered Benefits

The scholarship programme covers full three-year tuition fees for eligible students.

You will first need to apply for an undergraduate degree course at BIMM Music Institute Birmingham starting in September 2024. Once you have applied and have your applicant ID, please complete the scholarship application form.
