Jay Sidhu Scholarships for Indian Students at Wilkes University, USA Founded in 1933, Wilkes University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium-sized town of Wilkes-Barre (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Pennsylvania. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, Wilkes University (WU) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 6,000-6,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Wilkes University (WU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 86 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this US higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International students are welcome to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: India
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: All undergraduate degree courses and subjects are eligible.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The student must be a citizen of India.
  • The student must be the first time studying in the USA on an F-1 visa
  • The student must hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • The student must be enrolled as a first-year student at Wilkes and reside on-campus.

Offered Benefits

The selected students will be provided with an amount ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 as scholarship money once their application is accepted by the university.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: The students are required to enrol themselves with the university through either Wilkes University’s official portal or Common Application.
  • The students can then apply to their desired courses by submitting the required documents.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to submit the following documents:
  • Official high school transcripts
  • Copy of passport page
  • Official transcripts of other educational institutes attended.
  • Admission Requirements: The students must have completed the following to secure a position In Wilkes University:
  • Four years of English.
  • Three years of mathematics.
  • Two years of science (including a laboratory component)
  • Three years of social studies.
