The University of Melbourne is pleased to announce the Japan International Baccalaureate Scholarships in Australia. Students can apply to take the benefits of this application programme for the academic year 2022-2023.

This scholarship has been exclusively designed for Japanese national students that have undertaken and been admitted to a Master of International Education (International Baccalaureate) programme at the university.

Japan International Baccalaureate Scholarships, Australia for Master Established in 1853, The University of Melbourne is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Melbourne (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Victoria. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Training, Australia, The University of Melbourne (UNIMELB) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: over-45,000 students) coeducational higher education institution. The University of Melbourne (UNIMELB) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 166 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 70-80% making this Australian higher education organization a somewhat selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All students that are citizens of Japan and/or residing in Japan are eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can undertake Master of International Education (International Baccalaureate)
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • The applicants must be enrolled, or intend to enroll, in the Master of International Education (International Baccalaureate) commencing Semester 1, 2022 as an international student.

Offered Benefits

The University of Melbourne will provide the selected students a sum of $5,000 maximum to cover the expenses of master’s study.

Application Process

  • How to Apply: In order to apply for this award, students can log in through the university portal and submit their admission application. All eligible students will be considered for the award.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to provide transcripts for all courses attempted or completed including an explanation of the grading system used.
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants are required to have completed an undergraduate degree from an Australian or international institute.
  • Language Requirement: The students must provide IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or CAE test scores t prove English language proficiency.
