The International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) is seeking enthusiastic and high-potential applicants to participate in the Early Career Awards for the academic session 2024/2025.

Eligible candidates for the scholarship should be early career scholars with up to seven years of experience post-PhD, with possible extensions for career interruptions such as parental leave or illness. Applicants must be residents of one of the designated regions at the time of nomination and hold current membership with the IUSSP.The International Union for the Scientific Study of Population (IUSSP) is a global scientific association dedicated to advancing the study of population dynamics and their implications. Founded in 1928, IUSSP brings together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to foster collaboration and enhance the understanding of population issues. The organization promotes high-quality research, organizes international conferences, and facilitates the dissemination of knowledge in the field of population studies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Africa, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: Population studies
  • Admissible Criteria:
  • Early career scholars with up to 7 years of experience post-PhD (extensions allowed for career interruptions).
  • Must be a resident of the region at the time of nomination or primarily based in that region.
  • Must be a current member of the IUSSP.
  • Nominations require support from at least 5 IUSSP members, with specific regional and international representation.
