If you are an international student, you could be eligible for Competitive Honors colleges programmes for First-Year Students at IUPUI. The study program is awarded to students who have achieved outstanding performance in a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum.

The funded study is available for international students who want to study at Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Applicants must have excellent SAT or ACT scores to apply to this program in the U.S.

IUPUI Competitive Honors colleges programmes for First-Year International Students for Bachelor Established in 1869, Purdue University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the medium-sized town of West Lafayette (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Indiana. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Higher Learning Commission, Purdue University (PU) is a very large (uniRank enrollment range: 40,000-44,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Purdue University (PU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 150 years old higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 50-60% making this US higher education organization a averagely selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Countries: Application from all nationalities are welcome
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be awarded for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the IUPUI.
Admissible Criteria: You may be eligible for one of the above Honors College awards if you:

  • Applicants need to apply for a fall term
  • Applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 (weighted)
  • Students must have a minimum SAT score of 1310 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math sections or a minimum ACT composite score of 28

Offered Benefits

Honors College awards include:

  1. Bepko Scholars Program – It is available to one international student per year
  • Full tuition, fees, and books for up to four years
  • Two years of on-campus housing. The recipient will be required to live in the Honors Residential Based Learning Community (RBLC) during their freshman year.
  • $2,500 stipend for a study abroad experience

2. Plater International Scholars Program – This is available to one international student per year

  • $27,000 per year for up to four years
  • $2,500 stipend for a study abroad experience

3. IUPUI Chancellor’s Scholar Program

  • The annual scholarship, amount to be determined
  • $2,500 stipend for a study abroad experience

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To be considered for this application, applicants are required to complete the IUPUI application and  Honors College application (and submit all materials) by the deadline. You need to submit an  application for admission by November 1 and a separate application to the  Honors College by November 15. They will also require you to submit additional materials.
  • Supporting Documents: Applicants should present the original certificates/official certification of your qualifications as stated in your application (e.g. official transcripts, award certificates, English test results and official certified English translations where applicable) for verification before starting your studies.
  • Admission Requirements: For the program, applicants must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75 and also have a minimum SAT score of 1310 on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and Math sections or a minimum ACT composite score of 28.
  • Language Requirement: Students must have good command in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
