For providing financial support to needy students, the ARES (Academy of Research and Higher Education, Belgium) is awarding International Training Scholarships for the academic year 2026–2027.
To be eligible for the ARES International Training Scholarships, applicants must be permanent residents and currently working in one of the 31 ARES partner countries. Palestinian nationals are also eligible, even if residing outside these countries. Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a first-cycle (180 ECTS) or second-cycle (300 ECTS) diploma from Belgian higher education, depending on the program type. At least two years of relevant professional experience in an ARES partner country is also required.
The Academy of Research and Higher Education (ARES), or Académie de recherche et d’enseignement supérieur in French, is the umbrella organization for higher education institutions in the French-speaking community of Belgium (the Wallonia-Brussels Federation). Established in 2014, ARES plays a crucial role in coordinating and supporting these institutions in their missions of teaching, research, and community service.
