The Northern Territory Government is happy to announce the International Student Wellbeing Grants Program for 2024-2025. This initiative aims to support activities and events that enhance the wellbeing of international students studying in the Territory.
Grants are open to international education and training providers, student and community groups, associations, businesses, and not-for-profit organizations that meet the eligibility criteria. Eligible activities should enrich international student wellbeing, increase social connections and employment opportunities, foster community understanding of international students’ contributions, and provide mental health and safety strategies.The Northern Territory Government is the executive authority of the Northern Territory of Australia. The government is responsible for local administration, including health, education, public infrastructure, and community services. Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Countries: All countries
Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for any subject offered by institutions within the Territory.
Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be an international education and training provider, student or community group, association, business, or not-for-profit organization.
- Must propose activities and events that align with the program’s objectives:
- Enrich and promote international student wellbeing.
- Increase international students’ social connections and sense of belonging.
- Enhance employment opportunities for international students and graduates on a post-study working visa.
- Foster community understanding of the benefits and contributions of international students.
- Provide strategies for managing mental health and physical safety.
Offered Benefits
The program funds exciting and innovative ideas that enrich the wellbeing and experiences of international students, including:
- Events and activities that increase social connections and community involvement.
- Sporting activities, mental health awareness events, volunteering, leadership programs, and multicultural events.
- Travel costs associated with events or activities (up to 50% of total grant funding).
- Fees for facilitators or consultants for proposed activities or events (up to 50% of total grant funding).
- Catering costs (food and non-alcoholic beverages) up to 25% of the total value of the grant.
Application Process
Applicants must log in to the Northern Territory Government portal to apply. The current round is open from 17 May 2024 to 3 June 2024. Proposed activities and events should be scheduled between 1 July 2024 and 1 June 2025.
