The National University of Ireland is pleased to offer Postgraduate Merit Scholarship for September 2017 intake. These scholarships are aimed at taught postgraduate programmes in all areas of the NUI Galway curriculum.

National University of Ireland, Galway is committed to attracting high calibre students from around the world.  The university offers a range of merit-based partial tuition fee waivers to eligible students from a number of priority countries.

International Scholarships for Postgraduate Programme at National University of Ireland, 2017 for Master Established in 1845, National University of Ireland, Galway is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large town of Galway (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), County Galway. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Department of Education and Skills, Ireland, National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicant must be in receipt of an offer; firm or conditional for one of university’s taught masters programmes for entry to NUI Galway in September 2017.
  • Scholarships are awarded in the form of a partial or full tuition fee waiver. They must confirm their acceptance of same within 30 days and they will then issue an updated letter of offer reflecting the scholarship award. The scholarship amount is then deducted from the tuition fee applicable for year 1 of their taught masters programme. This scholarship is a one off partial tuition fee waiver and it is not a cash award and no payment will be made by the university.
  • Applicant must confirm their acceptance of the scholarship via payment of the deposit applicable – by accepting their place on the PAC account.
  • Applicant must be a resident of a Non-EU country and if the international scholarship is country specific; for India for example; then applicant must be citizen of the country and resident in that country when applying.

Offered Benefits

Postgraduate Merit Scholarships, comprising a partial fee waiver (value: €2,000 to €2,750), are available.

Application Process

Applicant should submit their scholarship application via email. Applicant should apply for admission to one or more eligible programmes online via the Postgraduate Applications Centre (PAC). In order to apply please forward a personal statement (not more than 600 words) indicating reasons for choosing their course and NUI Galway. Please include the title of the scholarship scheme applicant is applying for in the subject of their e-mail and also their PAC application number (for example – Postgraduate Merit Scholarship, PAC application no. 17000000).
