International Postgraduate Research Scholarships in Solar Research, Australia for Master Established in 1989, Western Sydney University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Penrith (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), New South Wales. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD degree programme in Solar Research.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must have to meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Be a domestic or international student
  • Have an unconditional offer of admission or be enrolled in a full-time Masters by Research or PhD at the Faculty of Science
  • Be willing to conduct research into experimental and/or theoretical projects within the Solar Research Group
  • Hold an honours degree (first class or second class upper) or a master’s degree in a related field with a substantial research component.

Offered Benefits

The study program will offer up to $28,854 stipend scholarship assistance for students undertaking research in solar energy utilisation. This scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance equivalent to the minimum RTP rate (indexed on 1 January each year). A successful Master by Research recipient may be awarded a scholarship for up to 1.75, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

A successful Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) may be awarded the scholarship for up to three years with a potential six-month extension, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

  • How to Apply: To be considered for the scholarships, applicants must have to take  admission in a postgraduate research degree at the University of Sydney. After receiving an unconditional offer of admission, candidates must submit an online application form.
  • Supporting Documents: Must attach academic transcript, area of study and research proposal, curriculum vitae, and list of publications. Note: Please upload all your attachments as one pdf file. Do not upload documents in a high-resolution format so as to aid with minimizing file size.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission, students must have to check the  entry requirements of their chosen program.
  • Language Requirement: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific  English language requirements in order to be able to study at the university.
