Eligibility Criteria

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: PhD or postdoctoral degree program in any subject area offered by the university.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Master / PhD graduates with African nationality
  • The candidate must have obtained a master’s degree that is comparable to a Dutch MSc.
  • Applicants must be fluent in spoken and written scientific English.

You will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €2960,- and €4670,- for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10).

Application Process

  • How to Apply: To apply for the opportunity, applicants must apply for admission to a  PhD program at Wageningen University. After that, they can achieve this award.
  • Supporting Documents: Aspirants have to submit the previous degree certificate, transcripts academic records, research proposal, statement of motivation and CV.
  • Admission Requirements: For taking admission in a PhD program, you should check all the  admission requirements of the university.
  • Language Requirement: In order to be admitted to the PhD programme, the PhD candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the English language, as well as the Dutch language, if the thesis is written in Dutch, at the level established by the Academic Board.
  • TOEFL internet-based 90, with a minimum sub-score of 20 for speaking.
  • IELTS (academic version) 6.5, with a minimum sub-score of 6.0 for speaking.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) with minimum C1 Advanced.
  • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) any grade.
  • RATEr: This is a local test that can only be done at Wageningen University & Research or Nijmegen University (online is possible).
