BCAM was officially created as a non-profit Association on September 1, 2008. The BCAM headquarters are in Alda, Spain. The scientific program is structured in five research areas.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Postdoctoral degree in biomathematics at mathematical and theoretical biology offered by the university.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • Applicants must have professional experience, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area of modeling infectious disease dynamics.
  • Research experience in modeling COVID-19 and other respiratory disease dynamics.
  • Research experience in network theory.
  • Research experience in stochastic processes.
  • Research interest in mathematical modeling of infectious diseases and population biology, dynamical systems theory, non-linear dynamics complex systems, and computer programming.
  • Strong background in statistics is advantageous.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary research, formulation, and analysis of mathematical/computational models.
  • Knowledge of bio-statistics and experience in advanced programming is essential.

Offered Benefits

The university will provide all the following benefits:

  • The gross annual salary of the Fellowship will be 28.000 – 34.000€.
  • You will then be responsible for making your yearly income declaration at the Bizkaia Treasury Agency.
  • There is a moving allowance for researchers from a research institution outside the Basque Country up to EUR 2.000 gross and a family allowance up to EUR 2.000.

  • Statement of past and proposed future research (2-4 pages)
  • Admission Requirements: Applicants must have a PhD degree in applied mathematics, mathematical biology, physics, or related disciplines in quantitative life sciences.
  • Language Requirement: Students must have knowledge of good communication and interpersonal skills in the (verbal and written English language.
