International PhD Scholarships in Legal and Social Theory of Global Economic Regulation, Denmark Founded in 1917, Handelshøjskolen i København (Copenhagen Business School) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Frederiksberg (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Capital Region of Denmark. Officially accredited and/or recognized by the Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet (Ministry of Higher Education and Science, Denmark), Handelshøjskolen i København (CBS) is a large (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational higher education institution. Handelshøjskolen i København (CBS) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation degrees), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree within the field of the Legal and Social Theory of Global Economic Regulation.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
  • Applicants are required to develop a theoretically grounded research proposal with a clear empirical focus. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): Implications of GVC regulation for contract theory; Implications of GVC regulation for transnational ordering; Implications of GVC regulation for the notions of extra-territoriality or territorial extension and the impact on democratic decision-making; Reformulation of the concept of economic constitutionalism in the light of GVC regulation.
  • Excellent academic track record and/or a promising pipeline, and an ability to clearly articulate a research agenda in Business Humanities and Law,
  • Enthusiasm for empirical and theoretical interdisciplinary research,
  • Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team,
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written); proficiency in English is required,
  • Ability to engage with others in a way that reflects our collective commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.

Offered Benefits

The winners of the PhD scholarship will receive a monthly salary is currently approximately DKK 28,897 up to DKK 34,898 depending on seniority and a pension contribution totalling 17.1%. The scholarship includes tuition fees, office space, course and travel costs (according to the current CBS agreement).

Application Process

  • How to Apply: In order to apply for this scholarship, applicants must apply for the scholarship by filling out the scholarship application form.
    • a presentation of an original research question.
    • a description of the initial theoretical framework and method.
    • a presentation of the proposed empirical material.
    • a work plan for the three years.
    • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
    • diploma for bachelor’s and master’s degree or other certificates at an equivalent level as well as the grade transcripts.
    • documentation for being in the top 40% of the class (if grade requirements are not met).
    • a concise curriculum vitae (CV).
    • a list of articles and publications (if applicable).
    • one example of a selected written work (e.g. master’s thesis)
  • Admission Requirements: To be accepted in a PhD programme at CBS, applicants must have received a grade of 10 or higher on the Danish 7 – point scale on theMaster’sr’s thesis or equivalent.
  • Language Requirement: Students need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.
