The University of Amsterdam is pleased to announce two PhD positions focused on Human-Aligned Video-AI. These positions are part of the prestigious Human-Aligned Video AI (HAVA) Lab, a flagship interdisciplinary project that aims to explore and address fundamental questions about human alignment with video AI.

Applicants from all countries are eligible to apply. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries.
  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The scholarship will be awarded for PhD research in any subject offered by the Faculty of Science, Mathematics & Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam.
  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:
    • Hold a relevant Master’s degree in artificial intelligence or a related field.
    • Show affinity with interdisciplinary research in AI.
    • Demonstrate interest in developing skills required in complementary disciplines.
    • Possess experience with programming in Python, computer vision, and machine learning.
    • Be highly motivated, independent, and creative.
    • Exhibit strong communication, presentation, and writing skills in English.

Offered Benefits

  • Salary: A gross monthly salary ranging from €2,770 in the first year to €3,539 in the final year (scale P).
  • Contract: A temporary contract for 38 hours per week for four years, initially for 18 months, with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory evaluation.
