To make education accessible and affordable to its international students, Radboud University has established the International PhD Position in Outer Space and Colonialism for the academic year 2025-2026.
To be eligible, applicants must hold a master’s degree in Human Geography, Anthropology, Science and Technology Studies (STS), Black Ecologies, Blue Humanities, or a related field. They should have a strong interest in colonial processes and themes such as outer space, ocean geographies, or extractivism. Experience with qualitative research methods, particularly ethnography, is required, along with excellent written and spoken English skills. The position is open to candidates of all nationalities, and applications from underrepresented groups in academia are strongly encouraged.
