The project focuses on understanding the neural mechanisms of pain perception using advanced techniques like Neuropixels recordings, imaging, and optogenetics in behaving mice.

To be eligible for this position, applicants must hold a master’s degree in neuroscience or a related quantitative field, have experience with in vivo rodent experiments (e.g., surgery, electrophysiology, imaging), and possess skills in data analysis and teamwork.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Open to applicants from all countries

  • Acceptable Course or Subjects: The fellowship is awarded in System Neuroscience, specifically on cortical processing of pain

  • Admissible Criteria: To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Hold a Master’s degree in neuroscience or a quantitative field (or be near completion)

    • Have experience with in vivo methods in rodents (surgery, electrophysiology, imaging)

    • Be proficient in data analysis and computational techniques

    • Possess strong teamwork and communication skills

    • Be willing to undertake coursework (30 ECTS), teaching responsibilities, and an international research stay.
