The funding program assists excellent students who wish to commence  PhD degree programs at the Department of Geochemistry and the Department of Hydrology in Denmark.The University of Copenhagen is a public research university in Copenhagen, Denmark, that is also the largest educational institution in Denmark. Eligibility Criteria

  • Eligible Countries: Students from Denmark and other foreign countries are both eligible to apply.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: Students can apply for a PhD programme at the Department of Computer Science’s Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for the PhD programme, you must have completed a degree programme, equivalent to a Danish master’s degree (180 ECTS/3 FTE BSc + 120 ECTS/2 FTE MSc) related to the subject area of the project, e.g. inorganic hydrogeochemistry, hydrogeology.
  • It is required that the candidate spends jointly up to six months during PhD programme at the partner institutions in Switzerland and India.

Offered Benefits

The terms of employment and salary are in accordance to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State (AC). The position is covered by the Protocol on Job Structure.

  • How to Apply: Admission applications must be submitted via the  university portal. Interested students must submit a separate  fellowship application form.
  • Supporting Documents: The students are required to present the following documents to the university:
  • 1.    Motivated letter of application (max. one page)
    2.    Curriculum vitae including information about your education, experience, language skills and all other skills and experiences relevant for the position
    3.    Original diplomas for Bachelor of Science or Master of Science and transcript of records in the original language, including an authorized English translation if issued in another language than English or Danish. If not completed, a certified/signed copy of a recent transcript of records or a written statement from the institution or supervisor is accepted.
    4.    Publication list (if possible)
    5.    Reference letters (if available)
  • Admission Requirements: The applicants must have completed a degree programme equivalent to a Danish master’s degree (180 ECTS/3 FTE BSc + 120 ECTS/2 FTE MSc) related to the subject area of the project, e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Language Requirement: The students must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
